A typical cycle from when the annual Class of Inductees are publicly announced through to induction day is approximately six months. Unfortunately, in these unprecedented times, these incredible Inductees had to wait nearly a year and a half from when they were first announced to the public until the moment the Order of Sport scarf is placed around their necks, Order of Sport pin over their hearts and the Order of Sport trophy placed in their hands.
Six athletes and five builders were chosen this year to signify and celebrate Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame’s 65th anniversary year. They were selected from over 260 public nominations and by a committee comprised of sports broadcasters, writers, academics and athletes, all for their ability to lead and inspire both on and off the field of play, for their sports accomplishments and in recognition of their continuing role in building Canada through sport and the value they return to their communities.
They all have anticipated this moment that signifies their immense contributions made to Canada through sport. For the first time, the event is open to all Canadians to celebrate with the Class of 2020-21 Inductees and for all to feel the impact of receiving this honour. Get your free tickets!
