On October 23rd the Class of 2024, an outstanding group of athletes, builders, and trailblazers received the Order of Sport, marking their induction into Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame. Spanning a wide array of sports, this diverse group encompasses a rich tapestry of talent, featuring dedicated community builders, innovative sport pioneers, exceptional athletes, and inspirational role models whose contributions transcend the boundaries of sport.
These remarkable individuals have not only achieved exceptional success in their respective fields but have also profoundly impacted their communities and the country. They were selected from over 234 public nominations and by a committee comprised of sports broadcasters, writers, academics and athletes, all for their ability to lead and inspire both on and off the field of play, for their sports accomplishments and in recognition of their continuing role in building Canada through sport and the value they return to their communities.
